Powered by Plants RI
Powered by Plants RI is a volunteer-based organization. As one of the co-leaders of the group, our mission is to spread the word about the many health benefits of a plant-based diet. We provide monthly meetings, and everyone is invited, regardless of where you are in your plant-based journey.
Rhode Island Vegan Awareness
Rhode Island Vegan Awareness is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to advocating veganism for a more peaceful and just world for all life. They actively work to Inspire justice and true respect for other species and the earth, educate the public with critical information and support the local community.
There are more and more plant-based/ vegan restaurants popping out across Rhode Island and even more vegan menu options available at many non-vegan restaurants.
Just because it’s vegan, doesn’t mean it’s healthy. I’m aware that the main goal of a restaurant is to make delicious food (which means little restriction on salt, sugar and oil) so I personally tend to eat out only on special occasions. But when I do go out, I have a few favorites: Plant City, (vegan) Garden Grille, (vegetarian with lots of vegan options) and Like No Udder (vegan ice-cream).
